TOURTIÈRE-STYLE MEATLOAF BY CHEF JONATHAN MAYER
Meat:
1lb extra lean ground beef
Ingredients:
1/4 cup shredded sweet potato
1/4 cup chopped onion
2 egg whites
1/4 cup breadcrumbs
2 tablespoons chopped celery
2 tbsp tourtière spices *see note
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Mix all ingredients, form into a loaf, bake for 30 to 45 minutes.
Serve with mashed sweet potatoes and your favorite vegetables.
*Tourtière spice blend
1 tsp celery salt
1/2 tsp ground black pepper
1/2 tsp ground savory
1/2 tsp ground cloves
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground thyme
1/4 tsp dried mustard
